Cookies and similar storage
Two categories, listed in full below. One is necessary to sign you in; the other counts page views and is off unless you switch it on.

01Your choice, and how it is presented
Under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations we must get your consent before setting any storage that is not strictly necessary, and consent has to be freely given.
So the notice you saw has two buttons, Accept and Reject. They are the same size, the same shape, the same weight and in the same row. Neither is highlighted, greyed out, or hidden a step deeper than the other. Rejecting takes one click, exactly as accepting does — there is no “manage preferences” screen you have to walk through in order to say no.
If you dismiss the notice without choosing, nothing beyond strictly necessary storage is set. Silence is not consent here.
02Strictly necessary storage
These are set without consent because the service does not function without them. They are the only ones set before you choose.
- Session
- Keeps you signed in between pages. Cookie, expires when you close the browser or after 30 days if you asked to stay signed in.
- Draft reading
- Holds the photographs and the sentence you are working on so a refresh does not lose them. Browser local storage, cleared when the reading is produced or after 24 hours.
- Security
- A token that prevents another site submitting forms as you. Cookie, expires with the session.
- Cookie choice
- Records whether you accepted or rejected analytics, so you are not asked on every page. Browser local storage, held for 12 months.
03Analytics storage
Set only if you pressed Accept. It records which pages were viewed and in what order, aggregated, so we can tell whether people find the self-test. It does not follow you to other sites.
- Page-view identifier
- A random value distinguishing one visit from another. Cookie, 12 months. No name, no email address, no advertising identifier.
If you rejected, this is not set and no analytics data is collected about your visit at all.
04What we do not use
- Advertising or retargeting storage of any kind.
- Third-party tracking pixels or social media embeds.
- Cross-site identifiers, fingerprinting or device graphs.
- Any storage that shares data with a data broker or an advertising network.
We do not run advertising and we do not sell data, so there is nothing on this site that needs to follow you.
05Changing your mind
Clearing this site’s data in your browser removes the record of your choice and the notice appears again, so you can choose differently. Withdrawing consent is as easy as giving it.
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings entirely. The strictly necessary ones are needed to sign in, so blocking everything will stop the account features from working, but you can still read the site and use the self-test.
What happens to the data behind all this is in the privacy policy. Questions to support@artgalleryclothing.shop.
