Plans

Three plans, and the honest reason for each

All prices are in USD — United States dollars — and include VAT at 20%. The price shown is the price charged. There are no trials, no introductory rates and no discounts, so there are no conditions attached to what you pay.

  • The at-home test, in full

  • The first-wash card: temperature, sorting, inside out, spin, drying
  • No watermark on either card
  • Print-ready version, black and white, one page
  • Garment records, so a second wash starts from what you already know

  • Side-by-side comparison of items you are unsure about
  • Priority queue at busy times

The paywall

What is free, and what is not

We would rather write this down than let you discover it after you have uploaded two photographs.

Free on every plan, always
The three-level reading and the reasons behind it. What the item could stain. The at-home test, in full, unwatermarked and unobscured. Everything the reading cannot know, in full. The qualifier attached to the lowest level.

The self-test and the limits are never watermarked, blurred, truncated or placed behind a payment. Obscuring them would push somebody into gambling a drum of clothes instead of checking, and that is the outcome this service exists to prevent.
Behind the paywall
The first-wash card. Knowing an item is high risk solves half the problem; the decision you still have is what to do about it tonight — how cold, alone or grouped, inside out or not, what spin, how to dry it, and how to check afterwards. The first-wash card is the part you can follow at the machine.

On Load, the whole-load check: not one garment at a time, but whether today’s drum can go in together.
Why anyone pays
Because a wash that goes wrong cannot be undone. The colour is in the fibre of everything that was in the drum. One ruined load costs more than several years of this.

Allowance

What it is, and what it is not

Allowance is a measure of your use of this service. It is not money, it is not stored value, it cannot be redeemed for cash and it cannot be transferred to anyone else. Unused allowance does not carry over into the next period.

You cannot buy more of it separately. There are no packs and no balance held with us. If you run out, the options are to wait for the period to reset or to move up a plan — and we would rather say that plainly than sell you something shaped like currency.

What each action costs
ActionAllowance
Asking a question about an item1
Reading the composition label and the colour2
The risk card and the first-wash card5

A complete reading of one garment — question, label and colour, both cards — costs 8. The Free plan’s 50 covers about five readings a month, which is where the five-item figure comes from.

Before you subscribe

Currency and tax

Every price on this site is in USD, United States dollars, and includes VAT at 20%. Nothing is added at the checkout. Your card issuer may apply its own conversion if your account is in another currency.

Billing period and renewal

Monthly plans renew every month on the day you subscribed; yearly plans renew annually. Renewal is automatic and continues until you cancel. We email a reminder before every renewal, containing nothing but that reminder.

Cancelling

One link on your billing page, effective immediately for stopping the next renewal. No phone call, no form, no retention sequence. You keep access for the period you have already paid for.

Refunds

14 days to cancel a new subscription, and a further 14 after every renewal. Partly performed subscriptions are refunded in proportion to the period not yet supplied, to the card you paid with, within 14 days.

How your card is handled

Card details are entered on a regulated processor's hosted form and go straight to it. We never receive or store your full card number — only the last four digits, the card type and the expiry date, so you can recognise the card on file. The whole site is served over HTTPS.

What you are buying

Access to a service that estimates dye transfer risk from photographs. It is not a colourfastness test, it does not sell or recommend any product, and it gives no assurance about the outcome of a wash.

At the checkout you will be asked to agree, in two separate statements, that we may start straight away during the 14-day cancellation period and that you understand what that means for the cancellation right. Neither is pre-ticked. Both are repeated in your confirmation email. The detail is on the cancellation page.

Questions before you pay: support@artgalleryclothing.shop or +44 20 8013 8366. The terms of service, privacy policy and notice on how the estimate works all apply.
