The at-home test

  1. 01Take a plain white cotton cloth and dampen it with cold water.
  2. 02Press it firmly against a hidden inside seam for about thirty seconds.
  3. 03Lift it away and look at the cloth in daylight.

Any colour on the cloth means dye is moving. This is more reliable than anything we can estimate from a photograph, and it is free, here and on every plan.
